The Minnesota DECA is an association of students who are planning careers in marketing, management and/or entrepreneurship. There are over 3,000 members in 50+ chapters in the state. Their goal is to promote leadership development, civic consciousness, social intelligence and vocational understanding.
The DECA is a program that prepares emerging leaders in high schools and colleges around the world. The program enhances the co-curricular education of members through a comprehensive learning program that integrates into classroom instruction, applies learning, connects to business and promotes competition. America On Track (DBA Orange County On Track) is an award-winning non-profit organization with extensive experience in the fields of mentoring, violence and drug prevention, health & fitness, youth leadership development, and community collaboration. Their vision is to create a safe and compassionate society by providing hope, creating opportunities, and promoting non-violence and respect for people of all cultures. Their work involves providing families and children with support systems and life-transforming programs. Dress for Success Triangle promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. Over 99% of their services are volunteer lead! This NC branch was founded by Pat Nathan.
Dress for Success helps low-income women acquire jobs, retain those positions, and succeed in mainstream workplaces. An individual can receive everything from a business suit, to shoes, accessories and a career handbag or briefcase to help even the playing field during their next interview. Monthly meetings help women adjust to the workplace.
The Professional Women's Group (PWG) provides support and guidance on workplace communication, corporate culture, ideas on how to balance life and work, financial literacy, workshops with experts, as well as networking opportunities. The Career Center has volunteer coaches who help assist with resumes, technical skills, mock interviews, and provide moral support. There is a library of educational and financial literature on career development and budgeting success.
Christa McAuliffe Middle School was recently ranked in the 96th percentile of all NYC Schools! The students that attend this great school are gifted learners and come from a variety of economic backgrounds-as many as 65% receive free or reduced lunch. The school's mission statement is to "Encourage and foster high standards in areas of academics and social growth."
The City of New York has rising rates for bullying and suicides among children and young adults. As many as 20% of high school children said they have been bullied while at school and 16% said they have been cyber bullied through emails, instant messaging, chats, social media or texting. Studies show 1 in 12 teens has attempted suicide. The staff and students at Christa McAuliffe middle school want to help prevent this from occurring by focusing on an "Anti-Bullying" campaign in October, which is National Bullying Prevention Month. They have asked MARCO to provide promotional products to be used as a reminder for all students to take action! Their slogan is "Take Action Against Bullying"
Team MARCO and Difference Makers™ may be able to help you in your effort to help others. Each week a $500 credit to use towards a promotional products order (including any set up fees and shipping) will be given free to a 501 (c) (3) organization. Difference Makers™ are welcome to apply.
